"We have used SPOT for many years already, all around the world and we are very proud to be now part of the SPOT Ambassadors team. We are driving through some dangerous countries and many remote places, our SPOT device gives us more security and safety everywhere we go and not just to us but also to our families and friends".
Adventurer
Over the years, my passion for mountains has taken me to different parts of the world. From the mountains of the Karakoram, the Himalayas and the Andes, I have traveled Solo and I absolutely loved it. From April 2020, I will embark on another solo adventure but this time on a Motorcycle travelling from Frankfurt, Germany to Pakistan and India. I will be travelling through the Middle East, Central Asia, Kazakh Steppes, Mongolia and the great mountain ranges of Pamir, Karakoram and Himalayas. Some of these areas are very remote and by having SPOT Gen3, my family will always get my latest location. It will be one of the most important pieces of equipment I will carry with me.
EXPLORER
Adventurer
Whether it be a race or a solo adventure, Jenny’s desire to push her limits has led her to numerous corners of the world. She is currently working on a global challenge to run, solo and unsupported, across a mountain range on every continent. She has so far completed four world-first expeditions, taking between 17-25 days each in remote and wild mountains.
She’s also competed in long-distance bikepacking races, including becoming the first woman to finish the inaugural Silk Road Mountain Race – one of the toughest off-road bike races. Originally from Canada, she calls Scotland home now and between mega adventures can be found exploring the hills and trails.
Adventure Athlete
Emily or 'Scottie' is a ski instructor and adventure athlete. Multiple Ironwoman and Team GB triathlete, she's always looking for new challenges. Scottie grew up in Northern Ireland, but currently lives in the French Alps. After qualifying as a chartered accountant, Scottie felt the strong pull of the outdoors and left city-life to pursue a career in the mountains as a ski instructor. She is also working towards becoming a Mountain Leader and spends many days out in the British wilderness honing her skills in navigation and endurance. Along with mental toughness, these will be key to success on this expedition. From May 2018, Emily is attempting to climb all 282 Munros (peaks >30,00ft) in Scotland in one continuous round. She will be completing the challenge by herself, unsupported and entirely self-propelled (using a kayak and bicycle as required). Emily will be aiming to break the fastest known time for an unsupported round and the fastest female in under 77 days. The expedition will involve running around 1500km, cycling 1600km and two stretches of kayaking, however, the real feat is in the total ascent which will be a grand total of around 140,000 meters.
Extreme Runner
"It's a great honour to be part of the SPOT ambassador family. SPOT provides me, my family and friends with a much greater deal of safety and security whenever I plan an adventure in hostile environments or take part in ultra-races in extreme conditions. Even in the coldest conditions, I feel safe. The support and recognition to be part of this family encourages me to keep going as I feel my sponsors and supporters around me all the time. I wouldn´t go anywhere remote or anywhere where I would put myself at risk without a SPOT". In 2016 I have set my eyes on important challenges like the Tor des Geants, the Transpyrinea or the Himalayas round trip and SPOT is the perfect partner to cover my back if I´m in trouble."
Bicycle Adventurer
In January 2020, Marcin is organizing the "Kross The Record" bicycle expedition, whose goal is to break the world record of the highest altitude climbed on a bicycle. Currently, the record stands at 6,233m."I roam the world on my bike avoiding the beaten track. I like being in the middle of nowhere, in hard to reach reclusive places so I get the greatest thrill from cycling through the wilderness of mountains and deserts".
"Thanks to SPOT, I can now do it safely on my own. Whether I'm in the middle of the Atacama desert or on high Himalaya passes, SPOT makes me feel safe and secure".
