SPOT Expands Satellite Messenger Coverage in Africa

New Operating Gateway Provides Users of SPOT Satellite Messenger Products with Coverage in Nigeria, West and Central Africa and Surrounding Maritime Region


MILPITAS, CA (November 30, 2009) – Spot LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Globalstar Inc. (NASDAQ: GSAT) and a leader in personal satellite messaging and emergency communications today announced it has expanded coverage in Africa for the SPOT Satellite Messenger products. The expansion is a result of an appliqué installation in the new satellite ground station in Kaduna, Nigeria.


SPOT customers will now benefit from reliable satellite coverage in Nigeria, the surrounding portions of Western and Central Africa and parts of coastal Atlantic and Gulf of Guinea maritime region. Distribution of the SPOT Satellite Messenger Products is expected to begin in Africa early next year.
