Apricoat is a Kickstarter project which has raised over $1.7M for its innovative adventure jacket

Covington, LA (October 6, 2017) – SPOT LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Globalstar, Inc. (NYSE American: GSAT) and a leader in satellite messaging and emergency notification technologies, has formed a partnership with Apricoat - a zero-compromise jacket for adventurers, with innovative features including 16 pockets, inflatable hood pillow, and built-in sleeve gloves – to provide a special offer on a SPOT Gen3® GPS tracking and messenger device.

Apricoat is a crowd funded operation developed by a team of international explorers who banded together to make an adventure coat suitable for exploring anything from the rainforest to an urban jungle.

"We are excited about working with Apricoat to provide its backer base with our award winning SPOT Gen3 device," said Jake Rembert Vice President of US Sales at SPOT. "SPOT products are a perfect fit for adventurers and can provide peace of mind for their family and friends. The ability to alert search and rescue with the push of a button is key to the safety off all adventurers on or off the grid."

"We were amazed watching Apricoat reach its funding goal in Kickstarter of $50,000 in less than 48 hours, and to see it raise over $1.7 M from more than 11,000 backers in less than 2 months," said Asaf Ashkenazi, Globalstar distributor. "We are looking forward to getting our SPOT Gen3 device in the hands of hundreds of Apricoat backers."

"As founders of Apricoat and longtime SPOT users, we are excited to see these two powerful brands joining forces. This is a great partnership that combines the invaluable services and adventurer benefits of both groups to improve safety and security for all. That’s a winning combination," said Alon Partuk of Apricoat. "We rely heavily on our SPOT Gen3s for safety and recommend that all adventurers carry one."

"It is our goal to provide the backers of Apricoat with access to the best products, content and gear available," said Shay Leibovich CEO of Apricoat. "We are sure that the backers are excited about the addition of SPOT and we are looking forward to keeping our adventurers safer and better protected with the SPOT Gen3 devices."
