How do I replace the batteries in the SPOT Trace?
To replace the Energizer® AAA Ultimate Lithium™ or Energizer® NiMH batteries installed in your SPOT Trace, please follow the steps below.
- With a Phillips-head screwdriver, unscrew the 4 enclosure screws keeping the two halves of the SPOT Trace together.
- Carefully separate the two halves of the SPOT Trace by evenly separating the two halves of the device. If the two halves are separated unevenly it may result in damage.
- Remove the expired batteries and replace with new lithium or NiMH batteries
- Ensure batteries are oriented correctly.
- Combine the two halves of the Trace evenly and hold a firm grip at the center of the unit while screwing unit together
- An amber light will appear for approximately 5 seconds, then the LEDs will display the power on sequence – both the power and satellite LEDs will flash.
