AMA Member Rescued by SPOT after Taking Hard Fall from Bike

Covington, Louisiana (July 24, 2017) – SPOT LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Globalstar, Inc. (NYSE MKT: GSAT) and a leader in satellite messaging and emergency notification technologies, assisted an American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) member in receiving the medical attention he needed after getting in an accident in the Los Padres National Forest.

Alfred Moore was riding with friends when he hit a switchback in the soft sand and took a hard fall. After his friend helped pull his bike off of him, Moore realized he was in bad shape. "The initial pain was horrific, but then I lost feeling in my leg below my knee cap," he stated. After experiencing dropped calls due to poor cell coverage, he grabbed his SPOT Gen3® that his wife convinced him to purchase just days prior to trip and pressed the S.O.S button.

Shortly after Alfred initiated the S.O.S., the Los Padres National Forest Rangers arrived on scene. He was then transferred by helicopter to a hospital where it was determined he had three separate fractures in his ankle. Moore is grateful for having SPOT with him and said, "No one would have known exactly where I was without it that day and I would have been alone. SPOT is a must-have piece of gear for any outdoor enthusiast and is the best investment I ever made. I won’t leave the house without it."
