The device is active the moment your order is complete. However, the service period you have paid for will not begin until the following day allowing you time to update your firmware (Gen3 and Trace users only) and pre-defined messages before starting your adventure.
No. The system automatically calculates the cost based on the dates you select in the calendar. 1-3 days will cost $25 plus taxes and each additional day will cost $5.
Your credit card is charged in full for the service cost and taxes at the time of your order. Due to the immediate activation of your device you are unable to cancel service once the order is complete.

The first generation SPOT Personal Tracker is supported by AA Lithium batteries. We will only guarantee your SPOT Messenger if you use AAA Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries (L92) and SPOT Gen3 and/or SPOT Trace if you use either AAA Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries (L92) or AAA Energizer® NiMH rechargeable batteries (NH12).
