Once again, we are teaming up with Backpacker's Get Out More Tour! Get Out More is a mobile tour that encourages outdoor activity and offers outdoor enthusiasts, like our SPOT customers, free workshops about the latest outdoor gear. The tour will bring the pages of Backpacker Magazine to life. Audiences can see the latest in outdoor gear and apparel in person and get a chance to win outdoor prizes.

Check out the Groups functionality on SPOT Adventures and help us get some cool groups started! Create or join user groups and start topic discussions within those groups.

Joining a SPOT Adventures group is simple! Log on to your SPOT Adventures account (if you don’t have one, sign up for a free account today!).

Click on Groups

Find a group to join by typing in keywords in the “Find Groups” search box that best suits your interest. For example, “biking,” “ATV” or “hiking.”

No matches? Create your own group! We’ve already seen some interesting ones pop up like “Lighthouse Adventures”, whose goal is to “visit every lighthouse in the world”. Sounds like a fun goal to us!

• Click on Create Now in the Create Group box.

• Add a name for the group

• Write a description about what your group is all about

• Select the desired settings

• Upload a picture or logo

• And hit “Create Group”

• Begin adding your adventures or invite other adventurers to your group!

It’s not just awards season in Hollywood. Tech magazines and blogs awarded and honored the latest and greatest products unveiled at this year’s CES.

In addition to all the great features on SPOT Adventures, we’ve updated the website and added a few things.

You can now create or join user groups. Create groups like “California Hikers,” “Mountain Biking Moms,” or “East Coast Boaters!” You can also start topic discussions within groups.

We teamed up with Gear Junkie this holiday season with a “SPOT the Holiday” treasure hunt! We’re kicking off a holiday and gear extravaganza that includes gift guides, contests, and a seven-week-long campaign of giveaways and online treasure hunts where you can “SPOT the Holiday” gifts to win! Each week Gear Junkie will post a question and winners will be chosen at random.

The treasure hunt is underway and it’s not too late to join in!
