Now Update to Twitter and Facebook with Your SPOT PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 18 August 2010 11:32

FbtwitComboSPOT now supports direct updates to Twitter and Facebook for all devices. Post a Check-in/OK or Custom Message to your Facebook wall when out of cell range and automatically include a map link to your location. Communicate like you never thought possible! In addition, for the DeLorme PN-60w with SPOT Communicator, the device also supports logging of GeoCache finds to GeoCaching.com.

The DeLorme PN-60w with SPOT Communicator provides the most flexibility over these social network features and allows you to select from the device whether messages will be posted to Facebook/Twitter or both.

SPOT Personal Tracker & SPOT Satellite GPS Messenger customers can use this feature to send updates when the Check-in/OK or Custom button is pressed. Currently, this can only be enabled/disabled from your SPOT login account.

We can’t wait to see your Facebook updates from your SPOT device!

Only registered users can write comments!

Testing my SPOT communicator before my trip to Glacier.

When are you going to support Google+. Facebook is yesterday supporting only one
stream to everyone. With Google+ I can have circles so not everyone has to get
my Spot messages, only those in my adventure circle.

I winter in Florida and summer in Wyoming 5 months each. I use the SPOT for
hiking, fishing and boating. BUT..... My grand kids love wait in anticipation
as we travel the 6 days it takes driving our couch to Wyoming each year. I
leave the SPOT on the dashboard and they track our travel. They love it and
know exactly when we are back in Star Valley. :-)

The current one-way messaging is exciting. Allowing hikers to post their
location(s) along the trail gives the folks back home some peace of mind. When
will the technology allow for two-way communication? Will the current product
allow for two-way communication in the future?

I had the same problem a couple of weeks ago. Now that it is operational I can't
wait to try it out again.

Richard, this was completely patched on Monday. All systems are working and you
shouldn't experience these problems any longer. Thanks, The SPOT Team

I tried this two weekends ago. It doesn't really work. The twitter updated
doesn't include a link to your location, just the contents of your checkin
message, which is sort of useless.

The facebook integration doesn't work at
all. Nothing posts to facebook, and when I check back to the account linking
page on findmespot.com, it says I need to "Reauthorize". No amount of
reauthorizing seems to make it work, tho.
