SPOT & DeLorme Receive "Best In Show" Award At Outdoor Retailer

OR_Awards_2010The twice-annual Outdoor Retailer trade show is an exhibition of the best outdoors equipment in the world. New in 2010, GearJunkie.com launched an inaugural “Best in Show” award for the Summer Market trade show, held in early August. From featherweight tents to portable power generators, these items exemplify innovation and new thinking in the world outdoors. SPOT received the award for the DeLorme Earthmate PN-60w with SPOT Satellite Communicator.

“After four days in Salt Lake City at the show — and some early product tests — we’ve picked a list of to-be-released innovative products you’ll see on the market,” said Stephen Regenold, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of GearJunkie.com. “The PN-60w with SPOT combo provides first-of-its-kind GPS and satellite messaging features indeed worthy of recognition.”

Tour Divide Adventure Cycling Race Riders Use SPOT

TdivideThe Great Divide Mountain Bike Route is described as the “battle royale” that “braves mountain passes and windswept valleys of the Continental Divide from hinterlands of the Canadian Rockies to badlands of the Mexican Plateau.” With one single mammoth stage of 2,745 miles, this race is as huge as the West. Starting in Banff, Alberta, Canada and finishing in Antelope Wells, New Mexico, this self-supported mountain bike race took off on June 10 and the participants are well on their way to New Mexico. Tour Divide holds some major credibility because there are no prizes: just passionate riders with blood, sweat and tears. Check it out as the clock runs non-stop!
