ARPathfinder, New Jersey-based adventure racing team, competes in a variety of regional and national adventure races. Team members, Scott Borgstrom, Dan Byard and Jay Meier, are avid athletes who enjoy competing and educating others about adventure racing.
In 2012, ARPathfinder is competing in the USARA Adventure Race National Championship. Teams earn spots in the USARA Adventure Race National Championship by participating in 45 USARA regional qualifying events across the United States. Adventure racing teams will track through a series of checkpoints with only maps and compasses, while testing their abilities in the following disciplines: trail, running/trekking, mountain biking, paddling and orienteering.
ARPathfinder uses a SPOT Satellite GPS MessengerTM for training, safety and to share races with their fans. SPOT is a great fit for ARPathfinder because SPOT's satellite technology allows them to communicate from remote race locations and its compact size and light weight does not slow them down.

EP Films is a group of award-winning media professionals committed to protecting wild places and wild animals. In 2008, the three-man team of adventurers--Trip Jennings, Kyle Dickman and Andy Maser-- descended the highest volume rapids in the world, bringing back scientific data for National Geographic and the USGS on the Lower Congo River. One year later, EP Films produced Flathead Wild, a documentary that helped protect the Flathead River from open pit coal mining and gas extraction. EP’s portfolio includes documentary film work for National Geographic, PBS, Save Our Wild Salmon, the International League of Conservation Photographers, and more.
EP utilizes SPOT satellite technology when traveling the globe to stay in touch with support teams, sponsors and scientists. Because SPOT uses 100% satellite technology, EP is able to send short updates to their ground crews and even their Facebook profile from remote areas.
In March 2011 EP heads to the Democratic Republic of Congo for their Elephant Ivory Project. The team aims to identify the locations and types of elephants being poached in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The project will use social media and a feature documentary to raise global awareness to the growing trade of illegal ivory.
