Starting August 14, Primal Quest, presented by SPOT, is bigger and badder than ever this year taking place in the Badlands of South Dakota. Witness the action unfold live courtesy of SPOT, the official tracking device of Primal Quest 2009.
Back for another year is the popular leader board race tracking application developed by SPOT so you can track all of the racers in real-time. To see all the details and the leader board head to http://www.ecoprimalquest.com/wp-primal/. New this year will be the integration of individual SPOTAdventures.com profiles for the racers where you can see individual live maps and profile information.
Primal Quest Badlands is an expedition-level adventure race in which co-ed teams of endurance athletes from around the world will compete with one another against a 600 mile (965+ KM) wilderness course. The Badlands are known for unforgiving terrain and climate, surely to challenge the racers as they trek, climb, bike, swim, paddle and navigate toward the finish line.

Most SPOT Users find track mode the perfect way to record a trip. Here’s a quick guideline on how to use tracking.
Once tracking is activated, SPOT automatically updates your GPS location every 10 minutes for 24 hours (or until canceled). No text or email messages are sent, but your online account is updated showing your waypoints on Google Maps™. You can even use the Shared Page function to so others can track your progress! SPOT LLC is proud to announce the winner of its first annual photo contest. The winner is Sean Morley of Fairfax, CA. Morley took the photo with his SPOT Satellite GPS Messenger in view off the west coast of Vancouver Island off Kwakiuta Point, Quatsino Sound on September 26, 2008 and submitted it for the contest in October. Recently, Morley used a SPOT Satellite GPS Messenger during a record-breaking circumnavigation of Vancouver Island by sea kayak. In 2004, Morley completed a 4,500-mile circumnavigation of the British Isles. Click "read more" below for the interview.
