New Singapore Gateway Expands Affordable and Reliable GPS Satellite Communication and Tracking
MILPITAS, CA (October 13, 2008) – SPOT LLC (www.findmespot.com), a subsidiary of Globalstar, Inc (NASDAQ:GSAT) and the pioneer behind the award-winning SPOT Satellite MessengerTM, today announced it has expanded SPOT’s satellite communications coverage throughout Singapore, Malaysia, and significant portions of Indonesia, and much of the surrounding maritime region including the Strait of Malacca. The expanded coverage is due to the newly completed gateway or ground station located in Singapore which is now operational.
With this expansion, current SPOT users can now enjoy seamless coverage from Eastern India throughout significant portions of Southeast Asia, and south to Australia and New Zealand. Distribution of the SPOT Satellite Messenger is expected to begin in Singapore and Southeast Asia later this year.
