1. How to Enter. Log onto www.findmespot.com/sweepstakes and follow the directions to complete and submit the online survey. By submitting your survey responses, you will automatically be entered into the On the SPOT withLes Stroud Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”). April 15, 2008 [All surveys must be submitted by August 30, 2008 at midnight Pacific Standard Time to be eligible for the Sweepstakes. Limit one (1) entry per person. All entries become the sole property of Spot Inc. (“Sponsor”) and receipt of entries will not be acknowledged or returned. Delivery of prizes requires a street address (no P.O. Boxes).
2. Eligibility. Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of Canada (excluding Quebec) and the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, who are at least 18 years of age. Void anywhere outside of the Canada (except Quebec), the fifty United States, or the District of Columbia, or where prohibited, taxed or restricted by law. Employees, officers and directors of Sponsor and its affiliates, partners, advertising and promotion agencies, manufacturers or distributors of Sponsor materials and their immediate families (parents, children, siblings, spouse) or members of the same household (whether related or not) of such employees/officers/directors are not eligible to enter.
3. Winner Selection.  A total of seven (7) prizes will be awarded consisting of one (1) trip for two (2) for two (2) nights to the set of a Les Stroud Production (ARV $3,500) and a total of six (6) SPOT Satellite Messengers with one year of Basic Satellite and Track Progress Service and the GEOS Search and Rescue Benefit. Winner will be selected in a random drawing from all eligible entries received. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received for the drawing. Drawing will be conducted by an independent judging organization, on or about September 15, 2008. By entering the Sweepstakes, entrants agree to be bound by these rules and the decisions of the judges, which will be final and binding in all matters relating to the Sweepstakes.
4. Prizes. One (1) Grand Prize: A trip for two (2) to the set of a Les Stroud production. Trip includes round-trip, coach class air transportation for two (2) people from major gateway airport nearest winner’s residence and double occupancy hotel accommodations for two (2) nights.  Spot will also provide $600.00 to the Grand Prize winner.  All other expenses are the sole responsibility of the winner. Hotel and airline will by selected by Sponsor in its sole discretion. (Approximate retail value (“ARV”) $3,500). Actual retail value will depend on winner’s place of residence.  Meals, gratuities, travel upgrades, or any other expenses not specifically listed herein responsibility of winner.  Travel and accommodations subject to availability; certain restrictions and blackout dates may apply.  If winner cannot travel]on one of the date(s) for which Les Stroud is filming within the United States or Canada, prize may be forfeited and the prize may be awarded to an alternate. Winner and travel companion must travel on the same itinerary. If Grand Prize winner is considered a minor in his/her jurisdiction of residence, prize will be awarded in the name of winner’s parent/legal guardian, and parent/legal guardian will be required to accompany Grand Prize winner on the trip. All travel and accommodations are at the winners' and travel companion’s risk.  Six (6) First Place Prizes: One (1) SPOT Satellite Messenger and twelve (12) months of the Basic Satellite Service, the Track Progress Service and the GEOS Search and Rescue Benefit.   Spot will award one (1) First Place Prize at the end of every month of the Sweepstakes.   If a First Place Prize winner is considered a minor in his/her jurisdiction of residence, prize will be awarded in the name of the winner’s parent/legal guardian.  First Place Prize winners will be responsible for all service charges at the regular rate following the initial twelve (12) month period, unless earlier canceled by contacting Spot at 1-866-OK1-SPOT.  Each First Place Prize winner must provide a credit card at the time of activation for service renewals.  All winners will be solely responsible for all applicable taxes on prizes. Prizes are non-transferable. No substitutions or cash redemptions, except by Sponsor who reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value in the case of unavailability of any prize.
5. Notification and Conditions. Winner will be notified by U.S. mail and/or email. Winner will be required to sign and return, where legal, an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release within fourteen (14) days of prize notification. If winner cannot be contacted, if any prize is returned as undeliverable, or in the event of noncompliance with these Sweepstakes rules and requirements, the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be selected. Upon prize forfeiture, no compensation will be given. Travel companion of winner must sign and return a liability/publicity release prior to ticketing.  In addition, travel companion must be 18 or older or a member of winner’s immediate family. Sweepstakes is subject to all federal, state, and local laws. By entering and/or acceptance of prize, entrants and winner agree to release Sponsor, and its parent company, subsidiaries, affiliates, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers and directors, from any and all liability, for loss, harm, damage, injury, cost or expense whatsoever including without limitation, property damage, personal injury and/or death which may occur in connection with, preparation for, travel to, or participation in Sweepstakes, or possession, acceptance and/or use or misuse of prize or participation in any Sweepstakes-related activity and for any claims based on publicity rights, defamation or invasion of privacy and merchandise delivery.  By accepting a prize, each winner grants to Sponsor the right to use his/her name, city and state of residence and/or photograph for promotional purposes online and off-line without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law. Sponsor reserves right to verify eligibility qualifications of winners.  Sponsor is not responsible if Sweepstakes cannot take place or if prize cannot be awarded due to travel cancellations, delays or interruptions due to acts of God, acts of war, natural disasters, weather or acts of terrorism. Entrants who do not comply with these Official Rules, or attempt to interfere with this Sweepstakes in any way shall be disqualified.
6. Other Conditions. All entrants must have a valid email address. In case of dispute as to identity of entrant, entry will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at time of entry. “Authorized Account Holder” is defined as the natural person who is assigned an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization (e.g., business, educational, institution, etc.) responsible for assigning email addresses or the domain associated with the submitted email address. Any other attempted form of entry is prohibited; no automatic, programmed; robotic or similar means of entry are permitted. Sponsor, its affiliates, partners and promotion and advertising agencies are not responsible for technical, hardware, software, telephone or other communications malfunctions, errors or failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, Web site, Internet, or ISP availability, unauthorized human intervention, traffic congestion, incomplete or inaccurate capture of entry information (regardless of cause) or failed, incomplete, garbled, jumbled or delayed computer transmissions which may limit one's ability to enter the Sweepstakes, including any injury or damage to participant’s or any other person’s computer relating to or resulting from participating in this Sweepstakes or downloading any materials in this Sweepstakes.   Upon Sweepstakes registration, Sponsor will start sending you SPOT Satellite Messenger newsletters and product information and updates.  Each such communication will allow you to opt out of receiving such communications in the future.
